I am a libra with two incredibly spoiled cats. My very favorite thing to do is garden, especially with flowers and veggies, and I dream to one day plant and grow an orchard of fruit trees. Farming is a profession I would love to try in my lifetime. I grew up in Boonville, CA, home of Boont Amber Ale, which my step-father helps make. I am a would-be college composition instructor, with no job as of yet. Although I am a strong believer in non-violence and an advocate of peace, my most surprising guilty pleasure is regularly watching the UFC (the disgustingly gory mixed martial arts Ultimate Fighting Championship).

Really?!? Ultimate Fighting Championship?!? I am surprised--but maybe this is the other end of the balance beam that draws you to growing, to creating life in plants and then to people.

Considering the fact that you share a birthplace with one of my favorite beers, it's no wonder I like you!

So do you prefer watching the striking or the grappling?

I am a cat person too! Do your kitties have a FB page?

Hi Tracy, Sue, Greg and Stefanie! Thanks for commenting on my bio!

Yes, the UFC. I know. It's insane. I am very surprised with myself. I like both the grappling and the striking, and the kicking too-- it's very neat how all the fighting styles from all over the world have been combined to create the "ultimate" style of fighting. Each fight is very much like a chess game; every step, movement or hold is crucial, like a move in a chess game. I am still pretty annoyed by the girls in swimsuits getting oggled by the crowd, but all I can hope is that "The beautiful Ariani" is making a fortune. The announcers are hilarious too-- especially when they use sound effects, like Joe Rogan commenting on a replay where somebody gets knocked out and at the moment of impact he exclaims "BING!" As the kids say, LOL.

Sue, I think you have GREAT taste in beer. Boont Amber is a bahl steiner. I wish I had spent more time letting my step-dad teach me Boontling. I have a CD somewhere with him speaking it and it's pretty fun. Boonville has some great camping and wine tasting opportunities too. I feel really lucky to have grown up there.

Stefanie, I am a HUGE cat lover. My cats don't have a facebook page... but my gecko has a myspace page! She passed away about a year ago, though unfortunately. It was very sad. Geckos are so fragile. I planted irises in my back yard on top of where she is buried. My two cats that I have now are young and spry, but the coolest cat I ever had was my old buddy Black Star. He was brought to me on my 4th birthday and he was my best friend until I was 22. Through all my family changes and different houses, Black Star was my constant. I miss that ornery and vocal black cat very, very much. He is tattooed on my leg now, so he is with me every step I take. His ashes are still on my shelf in my room because I can't part with him yet. So, you see, I am HUGELY in favor of cats as pets/friends/family. They are amazing.

Wow, this comment got long! I am going to go explore Delicious now! Cheers everyone!

Both of my passed cats--BuBu and Cypher--are still in the house. We found really neat stone jars for them, so they're hanging out in their old favorite spots. I like having them around, and I really like your tattoo. I was admiring it again the other day.
